“We all begin the process before we are ready, before we are strong enough, before we know enough; we begin a dialogue with thoughts and feelings that both tickle and thunder within us. We respond before we know how to speak the language, before we know all the answers, and before we know exactly to whom we are speaking.”
- Clarissa Pinkola Estés
What a fabulous reminder to start off the week right. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard it or how many times I’ve felt it myself. Whether as children in P.E. or as adults being volunteered at work, we may feel that quiver of hesitation in the air of “who goes first?”. We want to be able to observe, take notes, and contemplate our best move so that we can increase our chances of getting it right and hopefully not embarrass ourselves in the process. But guess what, there are times when we will get it wrong. As much as we may adore the idea of getting things right all the time, where’s the fun in that? Life is a process. We are a process. We will never be prepared enough. Not having the answers in life is half the fun and the bulk of my education so far. Over the years I find myself taking on the “I will go first” more and more readily and I have to say, I am totally Loving it. Talk about liberating.
So here’s to an amazing week of listening to your thunder and all that you want to be, and then going for it with all you have.
All my Love,
